Your Support
If you have a passion for public libraries, a gift to the Arlington Libraries Foundation is the ideal way to show your support. Donations of every size are welcome and may be given now or in the future. You can give to the annual appeal, give through your IRA, leave estate proceeds in a will or trust, make a gift of stock, or give the gift of your time and expertise through volunteer work. Your gift adds to the libraries’ ability to provide digital and print materials, keep the libraries accessible, and offer innovative programming for everyone in the community.
Support the Annual Fund
Every year we ask the community to make a gift supporting current needs at the library. The annual fund is used to meet needs as identified by the library to help grow the collection and support its vitality; update technology; support community-wide programming; and improve both library buildings. Contributions to the annual fund are accepted throughout the year. To make a gift right now, please click on the Donate button at the top of the page.
Tribute Gifts
A gift in someone’s name is a thoughtful way to honor or memorialize a family member, friend or colleague, or to mark a special occasion. When you make a tribute gift, the Arlington Libraries Foundation will send an acknowledgement to the honoree or to the family members of those being memorialized (gift amounts will be kept confidential unless otherwise specified).
Employer Matching
Many companies match employees’ charitable gifts, which can double or sometimes triple the impact of your gift. Some companies also match retirees’ or spouses’ gifts. Please check with your company to see if they have a matching gift program and select Gift Matching with your online donation.
Stocks and Other Securities
The Arlington Libraries Foundation gladly accepts gifts of publicly traded stock and other financial instruments. For stock held in a brokerage account, please ask your broker in writing to transfer a specified holding.
Bequests and Other Planned Gifts
Many people find satisfaction in making legacy gifts to the libraries that have meant so much to them. This can be done through a will or trust, or by designating the Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance or investment plan. Naming the Arlington Libraries Foundation in your will is a simple and economical way to make a planned gift. A financial planner or estate attorney can explain more about other options.
You can also use retirement assets to make a current gift through a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA if you are over 70 ½ years; the amount you can give is capped at $100,000 annually. Consult your financial or tax adviser to see if this strategy meets your needs. For transfer information, please contact Jeff Miller at 781-316-3290 or info@arlingtonlibrariesfoundation.org.
Volunteering
Volunteers make a real difference, especially in our libraries. You can support the Arlington Libraries Foundation by supporting us financially or asking us about opportunities to join the advisory board. You can also help the library by volunteering, donating materials to the Friends of Robbins Library book sale, shopping at the Little Fox Store, joining the Friends of Robbins or Friends of Fox, and advocating for all libraries. We welcome and appreciate your participation.
Become a Business Sponsor
Businesses can support a number of programs and events at the Arlington Libraries through a sponsorship. You would help bring great programs to the community, and your business receives public recognition. Please contact us at info@arlingtonlibrariesfoundation.org or by phone at 781-316-3290 for more information.
